Installation of the USB adapter E132 for the PSI 6000

Step 1: Install the supplied driver from the CD or unpack the downloaded driver into any folder (using WinZip or similar) and start the *.exe. The driver is now installed.

Step 2: Plug the USB adapter into a free USB port of the PC. If the driver has not been installed before, Windows will ask for a driver after a short search.
Select “Install the software automatically” in the following dialog. The driver will now be installed. This has to be repeated for each new adapter.

Step 3: The driver creates a so-called virtual COM port. This means that in the device manager (right click on My Computer, then “Properties->Hardware->Device Manager”) an additional COM port is listed, which is not really present on the PC. This port must be used to communicate with the power supply via the adapter and the control software. The number of the COM port must be set in the software, see the software manual. If you are not sure which COM port belongs to the USB adapter, then set any one in the software and the software will try to contact the power supply. If the COM port is wrong or not configured correctly, an error is reported.
